Simon Holds Strategic Planning
A three-day Strategic Planning Session was conducted by Simon of Cyrene on September 20-22, 2017. It was attended by the staff, members of the Board of Trustees, persons with disabilities and other stakeholders. Facilitated by Mr. Norman Jiao, Executive Director of the Association of Foundations, the group collaborated in mapping out a strategic plan that would serve as SIMON’s roadmap in the ensuing five year period (2018 to 2022) towards organizational efficiency, effectiveness and financial sustainability.
The planning process helped the participants identify the issues and trends against which to align organizational priorities. Major concerns that cropped up include outsourcing of funds, continuous advocacy and adapting to the changing times.
Session topics consisted of performance review (SIMON’s accomplishments from 2011 to 2017), assessment of local and national situationers, review of the organization’s vision, mission, goals and core values, stakeholder analysis, key result areas and strategic goals.
Amidst challenges and uncertainties, SIMON is bent on reaffirming its mission, breaking new grounds, building meaningful stakeholders relations and continuing its legacy as the leading disability champion in the Bicol Region.
